Counseling

Counseling for the promotion of well-being and sustainable lifestyles.

Individual counseling

Counseling represents the possibility given to each individual or group to experience and know their personal power, intended as that natural push, inherent in human beings, to become fully themselves and self-realize throughout their existence. This is the vision of counseling that I have matured during my professional and personal experience, a vision that has emerged in the broader framework of human relationships and personal growth.

In a social context, such as the contemporary one, where the natural push towards self-realization is easily forgotten or crushed by the habit of being alien to contact with oneself and others, the counselor is a professional who facilitates individuals and groups in becoming protagonists of their own aspirations and desires.

It can help you to:

 - Make decisions with greater determination and clarity
 - Improve your relational and communication skills
 - Recognize your desires and needs and develop corresponding lifestyles
  - Achieve your goals in a concrete way
 - Overcome transient difficulties
 - Enhance your resources

Counseling paths are based on targeted objectives and are well-defined and have the characteristic of being time-limited.

Group counseling

Group counseling sessions allow participants to address themes that arise from their own needs and/or around specific topics.

Objectives of group counseling

In my professional experience, I have been able to verify how counseling, in the group dimension, is particularly effective in exploring and understanding themes related to one's way of relating to others and the environment; in fact, through the experiences and activations proposed within the group, it is facilitated the possibility that each participant can:
  - Share their own experiences
  - Give and receive supportive feedback
  - Develop their own self-observation capacity
  - Get to know and/or modify action modes that do not favor the achievement of their objectives

Many personal and professional skills are favored in the interaction of the individual with the group, this is in fact a primary evolutionary dimension for the human being. Social by nature, the human being expresses, discovers and integrates, in comparison with others, important information about himself and his relationship with the environment.

Who is the counselor?

“The counselor is a professional of interpersonal relationships and communication, their role is to facilitate people in reaching a higher level of autonomy and responsibility in their life; the counselor accompanies people in facing temporary difficulties through the enhancement of internal resources and functional connection with external resources; the counselor facilitates orientation and greater awareness of perspectives, changes, actions that support the person in taking steps towards self-realization goals.

They favor this process thanks to their cultural background, based on human sciences, the use of empathic and generative communication techniques and tools, as well as personal dispositions of authenticity, empathy, and unconditional acceptance.

The counselor uses active and deep listening techniques. Clarifies, reformulates, asks questions that facilitate self-exploration regarding the objective of the path, encourages and supports the connection with the emotional world, through a non-interpretative, evaluative, and judgmental mirroring, which offers the client the possibility of seeing themselves reflected in a mirror and moving with greater awareness towards what they desire or taking distance from what they no longer desire.

This relational process is based on respect and the circularity of communication and is based on fundamental conditions, namely:
  - the role and competence of the counselor, the clarity of their professional perimeter, ethical behavior;
  - the client's request to be facilitated in relation to specific, current, and defined situations in their life;
  - a clear contract that defines the objective and working methods;
  - a shared monitoring between counselor and client of the ongoing process and its congruence with the path objective;
  - a conclusion of the path that highlights changes, actions, perspectives, and new understandings/abilities of the client.
